IUEU Visiting Research Fellow Dr. Hervé Glevarec will be at Griffith University from 30 August to 22 September. Dr Glevarec is a Senior researcher with CNRS, (Centre national del la recherche scientifique). Dr. Glevarec will be co-sponsored by the CPCI (Griffith University Centre for Public Culture and Ideas).
Dr. Glevarec will be presenting at several Griffith campuses.
The events are as follows:
- Monday 15 September, 2008: Griffith Graduate Centre, South Bank Campus, Griffith University - "Music, taste and ageing in UK, Australia and France". This will be co-presented with Professor Andy Bennett as part of Cultures of Popular Music Seminar Series at the Griffith University South Bank Campus. All sessions are free of charge and will take place between 6.00 - 8.00 pm. Venue will be the SO7 2.19 in the
Griffith Graduate Centre. Refreshments will be available.
- Wednesday 17 September, 2008 1.30-2.00PM: Herve Glevarec, National Centre for Scientific Research (CNSR), France “French Radio and its audience: Recent transformations due to the New Media” Part of a special one-day symposium - Engaging Audiences. This will take place at the Ship Inn functions room at Griffith University's South Bank campus on Wednesday 17 September.
- Thursday 18 September, 2008: Gold Coast Campus, Griffith University: 10.00 am - 12.00 noon. Building G30 Room 3.01 - 'New Highbrow Popular Musical Tastes in France. Why is it new for (French) Sociology of Culture?'. A lecture to be presented as part of a colloquium sponsored by the Centre for Public Culture and Ideas, Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus.
